Pretty heavy stuff. Do not watch in a light-hearted mood, it’ll totally bring you down…man.

Story/Writing: 1.5/2

It’s the future (ish), and Big Brother is watching. Two people fall in love and must suffer the consequences of a police state.

Acting: 1.5/2

John Hurt makes a good protagonist, just as Richard Burton makes a good villain.

Photography/Set: 2/2

Really great looking sets. I haven’t researched the film very much yet, but I’m very interested to know what the process was in creating such a believable dystopia.

Sound/FX: 1.5/2

This area goes hand in hand with the awesome future-topia that was the set. The soundtrack is passable, but not as important.

Misc: 1/2

As far as a translation of the novel is concerned, it’s pretty good. I’m just not sure if I believed the love story enough.

VERDICT: 7.5/10

Double-plus good!
