Sooo goood! Again, weird, but so good.
Story/Writing: 1.5/2
A finely crafted tale about Santa Claus in the modern day. I won’t say more.
Acting: 2/2
Onni and Jorma Tommila are very believable in their roles as father and son. It’s good that they can bring that kind of relationship to the screen and make it self-evident.
Photography/Set: 1.5/2
It may sound picky, but the size and layout of the community in which the film is set is never made clear. I just like to be able to imagine the setting in my head.
Sound/FX: 2/2
Great effects, both on the practical and computer generated sides of the ball. The CG effects aren’t overdone, and the practical effects are visceral and realistic. The soundtrack is pretty good as well.
Misc: 1.5/2
VERDICT: 8.5/10
Just queue it up on Netflix, or whatever service you use, and have it ready for when the mood strikes this holiday season.
They delved too greedily and too deep. You know what they awoke in the darkness…
