Pan’s Labyrinth- August 18th

Pan’s Labyrinth (2006)
Spanish- Fantasy Drama
Rated “R”
Runtime- 112 min.
dir. Guillermo del Toro

Guillermo del Toro has a very distinct style both in effects and direction. He is most certainly one of the people in the movie business who most inspires me to have my own unique voice in the art form.

Story/Writing: 2/2

The special effects aren’t the only crazy creepy weird thing about this film.

Acting: 2/2

Sergi Lopez is pretty freakin’ terrifying as the evil Vidal, feeding the overall feeling of the movie.

Photography/Set: 1.5/2

The cinematography was a little confusing at times, and the labyrinthine woods didn’t help matters. Other than that, the sets were gorgeous.

Sound/FX: 2/2

Awesome.

Misc: 1.5/2

Really good.

VERDICT: 9/10

Also good if you’re trying to pick up on Spanish, like I am.
