Vampires be crazy.

Story/Writing: 1.5/2

A strange commentary on resource conservation and prejudice. Strange, but has some pretty good twists in the plot to keep the audience into it.

Acting: 1.5/2

Let me start off with a resounding “hell yeah” to Willem Dafoe, he’s awesome. It’s a good thing that he is so great, because the rest of the cast does only an okay job of keeping the whole film moving and alive consistently.

Photography/Set: 1.5/2

The lighting changes between night and day were really good at lending a foreboding air to those who tried to cross into the other.

Sound/FX: 1.5/2

The vampire stuff was okay, but some of the gore was overdone. I starting wincing during some of the violent scenes, not out of nausea, but because I couldn’t believe I was going to see more of the same.

Misc: 1/2

Just never really “gets there” as a complete movie experience.

Probably good enough for a college-age crowd. It certainly could drive some sense into the average “Twihard”.
