It’s disappointing to hear quite so much discussion about this film’s authenticity, because I don’t think that’s what people need to be discussing after viewing something so good. At its core (however true it may be) the film is a great examination of street art and its exploitation.
The story follows the naive Thierry Guetta on his journey from amateur filmmaker, to documentarian , to artist. True or not, it’s a good story and very well-written.
If they are actors, they’re pretty good. If not, still good to watch.
Amateur, and it shows.
Cool effects, but the real show is the killer soundtrack. It really serves to compliment the underground, cutting-edge feel of the flick.
Other than a third act that outstays its welcome, everything else is pretty well put together.
If you want to know about the street art scene, this is a great intro.
