Being Elmo: A Puppeteer’s Journey (2011) English- Documentary Rated “PG” Runtime- 76 min dir. Constance Marks
Got drawn into this movie because of the other docs I’ve seen.
The man in the bottom right is Kevin Clash. The film follows his story, from a talented kid in Baltimore, to working with Jim Henson, and finally to the invention of Elmo
A lot of interviews with some of the most important people in the modern industry, and narration by Whoopi Goldberg.
Real, behind-the-scenes sets that really bring an exclusivity to the film. It’s too bad the shooting feels kind of amatuerish.
The older footage is cleaned up pretty well, but a lot of the modern stuff is of a lowered quality.
It’s just too bad it couldn’t be longer.
Give it a look-see if you’re in the mood for something heart-warming and informative.
