Green Lantern- June 11th

Green Lantern (2011)
English- Superhero Sci-Fi
Rated “PG-13”
Runtime- 114 min.
dir. Martin Campbell

Although there was some negativity surrounding this movie soon after its release, I decided that I would try to keep an open mind while viewing it

I said I would try.

Story/Writing: 1/2

Everything you would really expect.

Acting: 1/2

I don’t think that the casting director understood that Ryan Reynolds is popular for playing the guy-next-door, not a wise-cracking superman.

Photography/Set: 1.5/2

Standard action movie faire.  Keeps the plot moving while not making any of the action sequences confusing.

Sound/FX: 1.5/2

Really high quality, but you kind of wonder why they even bother having live action human actors sometimes.  A lot of what you see isn’t real, which brings me to my last point…

Misc: 1/2

If there is some kind of DC Justice League film planned, what exactly is the tone of the films meant to be?  I’m pretty sure that the Dark Knight movies kind of clash with the Green Lantern in terms of presentation and effects style, so how are their universes supposed to mesh?

I suppose you’ll have to watch it if you want to understand the sequel.
