Season of the Witch- May 14th

Season of the Witch (2011)
English- Horror
Rated “R”
Runtime- 98 min.
dir. Dominic Sena

It is one of the wonders of modern science and medicine that Nicholas Cage’s hair has not completely slid off the back of his head.  The eventual escape of his head’s current resident would be quite a sight.

Story/Writing: 1.5/2

Made un-enjoyable by the cast.

Acting: .5/2

No good central characters, and a boring ensemble.

Photography/Set: 1/2

Boring sets, especially during the opening scenes taking place during the Crusades.  The shooting style is typical of a B-level blockbuster.

Sound/FX: 1.5/2

Pretty good, with quite a bit of work put into the final scene.  The horror effects overall aren’t anything to knock.

Misc: .5/2

Not even the rosy tones of Ron Perlman can save this flick.

VERDICT: 5/10

I guess if you’re a die-hard Cage fan…
