After losing some of my faith in French movies after that debacle with Rapt, I accidentally gave them another chance. I didn’t know this movie was French until people started talking, so it was very well disguised as an American film.
Not very good as far as zombie flicks go. In what kind of zombie movie do they never figure out to go for the head?
Jean-Pierre Martins looks exactly like Cheech Marin as a beefed-up French action star. Claude Perron manages to make what could have been a strong female character into a psychopathic step back for feminism.
A pretty cool set that manages to be very claustrophobic when it needs to be. The action is fairly visceral and the handheld shots are pretty good.
Good zombie effects for the perceived budget. Reading into some of the blurb reviews, I would disagree with those who think that this is very gory. Shaun of the Dead was by far more violent, and it was a comedy.
Watchable, but not more than once.
Perhaps if you are a zombie or horror nerd that wants to branch out you might give this a view, bu the average movie watcher should pass.
