For April 26th- Tucker and Dale Versus Evil

The reason this movie is good: Because writing farcical humor is very difficult and underrated.  If you want to see a good piece of horror spoof, it should be this one.

Story/Writing: 2/2

A great idea for a movie.  How do the “monsters” on the other side of a horror movie equation feel?

Acting: 2/2

the comedic chemistry between Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk is absolutely wonderful.  Katrina Bowden from “30 Rock” puts on a smart performance as well.

Photography/Set: 1.5/2

Pretty cool sets, especially the gas station and cabin.  The problem was that sometimes the forest scenes got confusing.

Sound/FX: 2/2

Crazy gore effects that are present in any modern slasher flick.  It’s the commentary accompanying them that really brings them out.

Misc: 1.5/2

Filmmakers take note, this is how you parody a genre.

A good watch for horror fans or young college-age people.

The DVD has one of the best special features I’ve ever seen, “Tucker and Dale ARE Evil.” you should try and track down a copy for yourself just for that.
