For April 11th- No Eres Tu, Soy Yo

Looks like I may have finally found an international film that isn’t from the Asian continent and also isn’t terrible.

Story/Writing: 1/2

A decent break from the normal romantic plot.  Kind of a weird story structure overall, but it manages to make sense.

Acting: 1.5/2

A small and easy to keep track of cast.  Eugenio Derbez does okay in the lead.  He is able to pull tears, but this trips up his chances of manliness.

Photography/Set: 1.5/2

Good sets that are very well dressed.  They also serve to tell a lot about the characters who inhabit them.  Decent photography does well to keep the story interesting, especially with the scene changes.

Sound/FX: 1.5/2

Good sound and effects, even adding some to the flavor of the movie.

Misc: 1.5/2

Actually pretty charming for a Latino rom-com.

Worth a watch if you have the time or the inclination.  Good for a date night kind of flick.
